Hi every body,

First of all the results from those vets not playing in the Match against Boughton. Richard Neal organized this event which was a stableford match with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd highest individual scores; combined with a highest team score. The highest individual scores were as follows.

1st with 39 pts Norman Taylor,
2nd with 37 pts Brian Piddock,
3rd with 36 pts Richard Neal.

Looking at those scores anyone of them could have won last weeks Spring Stableford Trophy.

Total pts 104  on 90 pts were Mike Selling, Derek Stubbings,and Mike Fitzcharles.

Now we come to the results of our Match with Boughton, London Beach won 5pts to 1 pt. the only pairing that lost their match were the captain and his partner (not fair to name this person). I think for both Matches today the weather was beautiful, though I still think the greens are a bit slow. However the course looks wonderful and our thanks must go to the green Keepers for the fine work they do. The meal today was again outstanding and our guests from Boughton said that it was the best lunch they had, had this year. Our thanks go to all the staff at London Beach especially Ollie the chef. Because the team won this week there was free wine on the tables provided by Pierre. A special mention was made by both teams about the sad departure from this world of Ivan Healy, a respected and well loved member of the Boughton team. Personally I knew very little about Ivan, what I can remember and picture in my minds eye, is this cheerful little man with a rather large personality who said the Grace in Latin , and wore a jacket about two sizes to big. But listening to the other vets he was much more to them than this. Anyway guys that's the Matches, however shortly I will email you  the team selection to play Tenterden next Wednesday at London Beach. One more thing just to remind every one that all the events on our calendar for the month of June are up on the notice board, so if you haven't signed up for any of the matches please do, or an email to me and I will add your name to the list.
